poetry slam

Gabriella
before the slam commenced I found myself in that situation where there's a photogenic stranger in front of you, and you need to frantically whiz through the settings on your camera and take silly test shots on your friends to make sure you've got it right, so when you do ask a stranger for a photo you don't waste time taking over & underexposed photos and looking like you don't know how to operate the camera you take everywhere.

This is Gabriella, a new friend who might appear in front of my camera again some time in the future.

some shots that I forgot I had. These were taken a while ago while I was looking for a good location for an assignment, and these were some that I managed to fit in that weren't meant to be for anything in particular.

Canon EOS Photo5

this year I'm entering the Canon EOS Photo5 competition. I've wanted to do this competition for a couple of years now, but it wasn't until this year that I finally have easy access to Canon equipment. I received my offiical box a couple of days ago in the mail, which include the five briefs I can enter in the competition. the sticky notes are my brainstorms thus far.

Because I didn't enter the competition last year, I had to submit a photo for the 'Open Brief' to be eligible to request a box. The theme was 'wind', and created the above image called 'Gone with the Wind'. Basically the wind is blowing away the colourful world we live in, and is leaving behind a monochrome world. As much as I despise selective colour, I still ended up doing this. I was wondering how long it would take before this happened..

bryn & carlos: semester two, folio one

A Dark Place

here are some photos that Ellie and I have been working on for another folio assignment this year! we had to take and edit photos with the themes repetition, identity and composites. the latter had to have a text layer; a feature on photographs I usually dislike. the photo above was taken by me, and the photo directly below was taken by Ellie. Those two are for the theme identity. enjoy!

Composites:

'Watch for Pedestrians' - by Steph
