limou+ another blithesome day

i didn't think my last school swimming carnival would be so fun spent in the rain. with my ever faithful alphacharlieechocharlieoscarmikeromeoalphadeltaecho#10001.2 assisting me in being the 'pulley' for delivering papers to and fro each gazebo for house point recording, and wearing my round sunnies and feeling like a boss is a great start to the school year.

there are heaps of personal jokes and memories i could record in here, for instance, the official friend making of riley and dakota, and linden and i having a little war against her brother and his two friends, plus riley & dakota and their friend, and the costumes linden and i made to protect us from the rain.

but something that would interest others more is the arrival of my first ever pair of oxford shoes from asos. only pictures can explain how beautiful they are.

i never knew how girls could obsess over shoes until i found oxfords.          \

rule #32 enjoy the little things

i can't believe i've gone about two weeks without touching my camera, but every other day i still think and store bizarre photoshoots in the back of my head, even of people i don't talk to. and every moment i happen to miss still turns into a gif image only i can see. yesterday was so lovely i had to record it somewhere, but seeing as i can't go without a photo for every post, i managed to plan a last minute photoshoot with tanya and got some really unexpected shots, which boosted my day even more.

morning: getting up extra early reminded me how refreshing it is. i still dont know if i'm a morning person or night person. i noticed in the newspaper a photo of three males in striking tartan suits, which always always makes me smile. they also happened to be playing ping pong, which reminded me of an old inside joke with a friend.

then the endless little moments at school, where riley and dakota were subtley playing a game with themselves near my circle of friends flashing cheesey smiles and waving at random moments. those kids will grow up to be something great.
in creative writing, the harris burdick artworks were incredible, unfortunately a faithful comrade and i struggled to be inspired to write a piece sparked from the quotes and pictures. our only option was to sleep on it then and there, which we also struggled to do, but i can safely say our troubles were erased when a classmate actually fell asleep in our next class watching a film in which our lovely teacher introduced with dramatic music playing the background. (probably a had-to-be-there moment).
then the little dilemma at lunch break where i challenged my comrades to plan something against me, but ended up soaking eachothers' lunch and positioning shiny objects against the sun to blind us and getting eachother wet. well, only my comrades were drenched. i only witnessed everything.

when i got home i was suprised to find tanya in pink high waisted shorts and an old baggy 'grand canyon' tshirt, for retro vintage i never knew she liked. it triggered me to do a photoshoot right away, and managed to capture a bit of everything: the newspaper cutout, the real smiles and laughs, the roses representing valentines day, although i viewed it from a completely different way. my valentine was bryn.

 how many cameras?                                                \

(other little things) i love it when the full length window reflects the garden onto my computer screen when i edit pictures to create a completely new and (surreal?) image.

measure your day in smiles, and enjoy the little things.

latest improvements on my bedroom. just added 67 more pictures to the wall collage and wardrobe door, but it's one step closer to hopefully what will be a little masterpiece.

mini me in sydney / penrith

this holiday post is a bit different to the melbourne one because a majority of the photos are of my sister instead of me. after the 365 day project i'm jumping at every chance to take the photos myself and have full control over what i see and freeze into a still moment forever.
at the start of feb the family and i went up towards sydney and stayed in chifley's penrith for two and a half days. photos in the red top and blue shorts are at the hotel's pool and shower. photos in the pink dress are at the botanic gardens, and photos in the blue floral dress are at the officer's mess. the only pictures of me are with the sheep statue, on the left of the black and white jumping photo and the second photo below. there are a couple of photos of complete strangers which i managed to capture for my "take pictures of 100 people i don't know" project (apart of my day zero list). unfortunately i missed too many opportunities to capture other strangers with striking suits and beards or business men on children's scooters because the camera was tucked away in the bag, but experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.
next time i'll have it glued to my hands.

one of my favourite parts of darling harbour, sydney, were the playgrounds. the waterpark, the sandpit playgrounds and the one with steep climbing walls and underground tunnels were some of the best playgrounds i've ever been to. i had some good ideas in mind now that tanya was my model and would fit the playground theme. when i got there, the whole thing was fenced off. looking through this 'sneak peek' window was all that was left until they recreate the area.

a kindred spirit who served me a strawberry cream with cheesecake and
caramel sauce crepe for breakfast. also the first to have their picture taken for my
"take pictures of 100 people i don't know" project.
i really adore this photo, if you laugh at it i will kill you.
