hand-made harp

the last entry for the Canon EOS Photo 5 competition this year. Click here to view it on the official website.
this image was one of the first that I took for this brief, but I didn't like it at all because it looked too boring. The two images below are ones that I took and edited today but I still didn't think they were quite right, so I went back to the first one, rotated and adjusted the curves and started to like it. Finalists will be announced 9 November!

a bit of a sneak peek to a project I'm currently working on: the National Summer Arts Scholarship.
I'm using the image from the series 'waistcoats', but also added in the camera, altered the eyebrow and gave the pop art effect. there's still carved wood and the Mona Lisa to be added, but I aim to finish by the end of this week.

transmission impossible

finally got around to completing another brief for the Canon EOS Photo 5 competition. This was for the brief 'strong colour' and you had to include tissue paper. Static electricity let me stick the tissue paper to the TV screen, which helped diffuse the harsh light from the screen. Tanya threw some sawdust about and I changed the hue in GIMP to match the rainbow on the screen. you can view my entries on the official competition website here.

TV explosion! not really.. it's overexposed dust falling onto the TV with a slow shutter.
